The preparatory test
Shorter than the contest, published in advance. It sets the content to know, uses exactly the same wording as the contest, and is marked automatically with full solutions.
Why a preparatory test
Curricula differ from one province to another. The preparatory test sets a common core, so no student is helped or hindered by their curriculum. It uses the contest vocabulary word for word, so no point is lost on an ambiguity. And it motivates: a student who takes it seriously commits to the preparation, and the class tries to guess the contest questions from the test.
What Theorema assesses
Problem solving. Understanding a situation, finding a strategy, deducing, checking. The questions ask students to reason, not to calculate quickly. A calculator would be useless, which is why it is forbidden.
What you will find
Logic, numbers and sequences, geometry, measurement, proportions, reading data, simple combinatorics.
What you will not find
Long calculations, formulas to memorize, speed questions, content specific to a single province.
For the teacher: four weeks of classroom preparation

Week 1
Introduce the mathematician behind the contest. Do the sample contest in teams.

Individual preparatory test on the platform. Review the questions most often missed.

Practice contests. Each student chooses a strategy to work on.

The technical check happens during the preparatory test and the practice contests. Then reread the full solutions.
